NOTE: there is NO conflict with the final production of the year, so Grease hopefuls can audition for both Treasure Island and Grease.

Wed 10 Mar, 7pm
Crete Street Theatre
Auditions will be held in one hour blocks, in groups of six. 
Each audition will involve singing, choreo and acting.

Cast required:  

WANTED: MEN Treasure Island Auditions

2 boys age 9 - 13 to share the role of Jim Hawkins.
PLUS
up to 20 males 16+
up to 6 Females 16+
Note: Females are chorus roles only, they play women, wenches and the all-singing, all-dancing goats.
All auditionees must:
Prepare a song from any musical.
Bring backing cd/tape or sheet music.
(Do not bring music with vocals, no sing-a-longs permitted).
Wear appropriate clothing and footwear as audition will include choreography. 
Auditionees will also be required to do a reading from the script, available on the day.
(Female auditionees will not be required to do a reading).

Available roles:

Jim Hawkins – boy, age 9-13,  treble.  
Tells the story, brave and resourceful, a large role for a competent actor,  some solo singing, lots of ensemble singing.
Long John Silver – adult, baritone.  
One-legged, charming but can be cut throat, much singing in this main role.
Squire Trelawney – adult, baritone. 
Big, bluff and blustering.  A main role with a fair amount of singing.
Dr Livesey – adult, light baritone. 
Educated, upper class physician – diplomatic but determined.  A main role with a fair amount of singing.
Captain Smollett – adult, baritone/tenor.  
An honest, blunt sea captain.  A main role with a fair amount of singing.
Ben Gunn – adult, light baritone.  
Half-demented, cheese-hungry and goat-loving shipwrecked sailor.  A great role for a character actor with a solo song to die for.
Blind Pew – adult, tenor. 
Blind and savage pirate.  Great character role. Small role will be doubled with pirate or Ben Gunn.
Morgan – adult, lyric tenor. 
A young buccaneer.  Sings a beautiful solo.
Black Dog – adult, baritone. 
A swarthy, snarling pirate and vicious.
Billy Bones
An old seadog. Great character role.  Small role will be doubled with pirate.
George Merry, Israel Hands, Dick, O’Brien, Allen, Anderson, Luke, Mark, Harry, John – all pirate crew, any age 16+, all baritones except Merry and Hands (bass) and Dick (tenor).  
All sing with ensemble and in pirate songs and all have lines.
Andrew Gray – adult, baritone.  
Featured role.
Tom Redruth – older adult, baritone.  
Featured role.
Ensemble
Also various roles of pirate crew, crew members loyal to Trelawney, wives, girlfriends, tavern girls.  All sing and dance in ensemble songs.  The girls must be prepared to play goats.
NB: There will be understudying of main roles with no guarantee of performance.
