First staged in 1904, Peter Pan is a timeless story of magic, innocence, childhood and good form. JM Barrie wrote the play in response to the increasingly dark fairy tales that were popular at the time. It has been adapted countless times over the past century, and is a beloved classic worldwide.

Peter Pan is actually the story of Wendy Darling, who travels with the impish Peter to the Neverland to avoid having to face the perils of adulthood. While there, the children encounter mermaids, pirates and other dangerous denizens of the magical island.

This production aims to contemporise the story, and as a result we have made specific and deliberate changes to the context and characters, while still aiming to retain the heart and meaning of the original.
